Stephen Hopkins is a film and television director from Jamaica. He was born on March 1, 1958, in Jamaica but raised in England. He started his career in the entertainment industry as a television editor in 1980. He then went on to direct several TV shows in the mid-1980s, including the popular crime drama, Miami Vice.
In 1991, Hopkins directed his first feature film, A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child. He followed up with a string of successful movies in the 1990s, including Judgment Night (1993), Blown Away (1994), and The Ghost and the Darkness (1996).
Hopkins has also directed several popular TV shows, including 24, Californication, House of Lies, and The Fosters. He has won several awards for his work, including multiple Emmy Awards and a BAFTA.
Hopkins is known for his ability to create tension and suspense in his work, as well as his skill in balancing action and character development. He continues to work in the film and television industry and is considered one of the most accomplished directors of his generation.
